Over in a dainty pub in the heart of Kings Cross, Nashville singer/songwriter and all around rocker Mikky Ekko put on his headline gig in London. Not having performed here for over a year he gave an unbelievable vocal performance smashing through hits from his upcoming debut album 'Time' as well as the crowd favourite, his duet 'Stay' with Rihanna which shot him to international fame.
Kicking off the show with his rebellious track 'Riot' Ekko paired heavy crashes and chanting lyrics addressing society and people not living life to the full. 'U' and 'Pull Me Down' showed a softer side of Ekko, illustrating his love for his lady, matched with a mystical beat and sultry vocals. All leading to his final song of the night, one of our favourites, the uplifting track 'Smile'.
The energy throughout the show never dwindled with Ekko frequently interacting with the crowd and professing his love for London. Ekko put on a stellar show, a true performer with a varied mix of sounds that we eagerly anticipate on the album.
Ekko's debut album 'Time' is out on 23 September in the UK.
