This Year’s Met Ball Will Be Captured With A Special Documentary

Always wanted to know what goes on behind the scenes of fashion’s most prestigious event? Now we too can get in on the action, as the Met Ball is getting it’s own documentary.

The people behind the annual fund-raising gala, which takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, have decided that it’s time to open the backstage doors. Conde Nast Entertainment, Vogue and Relativity Studios are teaming up to showcase all the hard work that goes into creating the event.

Filmmaker Andrew Rossi will be shooting the documentary, focusing on the preparation for the annual Costume Centre exhibition, which this year is titled 'China: Through the Looking Glass'. The Met Ball itself will occur on the 4th May and will be co-hosted by Jennifer Lawrence, CEO of Yahoo! Marissa Mayer and actress Gong Li, alongside Anna Wintour.

So, what are the things we’re most looking forward to seeing on camera? We'd love to know what Anna Wintour actually says to her guest as she greets them from the top of the MET steps. How the process works pairing designer to A Lister. Plus how they get all those stars up the stairs without a single trip up (J-Law we're looking at you here.)

The film means that that regular folk won’t have to shell out $25,000 per ticket to attend, and will be able to take a look around the event from the comfort of their sofa. No release date has been confirmed yet, but we’re already reeling at the thought of joining Taylor Swift in her fittings trying on kimonos.
