Mean Girls - The Musical is finally taking shape and it's going to be SO grool.

Tina Fey, who wrote and starred in the original movie, has paired up with her husband and composer, Jeff Richmond, to turn the iconic 2004 movie into a musical. She first talked about the project in 2012 and her husband has now teased us with more details.

'We definitely want to see some kind of shape by the end of the summer. With that in mind, we know that 60 or 70 percent of that will go away when we start bringing in real singers and actors,' he told Billboard. Apparently, the screenplay is 60% done. There has yet to be a mention of a song called 'You Can't Sit With Us' or 'Too Gay To Function'. However, Jeff Richmond revealed that Regina George's mother will perform a piece called the 'Old Blonde Song'. That better include the lines 'I'm not like a regular mom, I'm a cool mom.'

While the original movie was starstudded with names like Lindsay Lohan, Amy Poehler and Rachel McAdams, the musical will be cast with newcomers. 'Hopefully we'll find a young person who, at this moment, is still in college but will be making her way to New York as we write. Still a fetus somewhere,' Tina Fey told* Vulture* in a 2014 interview.
