This morning Mary Katrantzou is giving us some motivation to head into the gym, as it has been revealed that she is creating a sports collection. This season it's all about the sports collaborations, as Riccardo Tisci has turned to Nike and Pharrell Williams has joined forces with Adidas.
Back in April we heard the news that Adidas was going to get the Mary Katrantzou treatment, and now we have a first look at the next it work-out-clothes-too-good-for-work-outs. Mary posted a picture on Twitter of one of the pieces with the caption: 'FIRST LOOK! Mary Katrantzou for @adidasoriginals...launches in store this November!' As expected Mary is playing with colour and prints, with a cobalt blue perforated top with print and mesh inserts. She also shared a snap of a tank dress inspired by a pair of trainers, with a print incorporating shoe laces and Adidas' signature three stripe. **

This season it's all about the sports collaborations, as Riccardo Tisci has turned to Nike and Pharrell Williams has joined forces with Adidas. Today Mary Katrantzou has given us even more motivation to head into the gym, as it has been revealed that she is creating a sports collection for Adidas landing in November.
The queen of the print, Katrantzou, will design a capsule collection for autumn 2014 including sportswear AND footwear. We have our fingers crossed she'll re-create some of her digital prints that stormed the runway - we're thinking kaleidoscopic running shoes and elaborate printed leggings.

Mary Katrantzou said about the collection: 'I'm really excited to be working with Adidas on a line of apparel and footwear. I grew up, like so many other kids around the world, wearing Adidas sneakers and I'm really excited about bringing my vision to such a global brand. They have a fantastic heritage and their ability to innovate in sportswear makes them the perfect partner for us to work with in this market."
Dirk Schoenberger, global creative director, Adidas sport style division said about the Central Saint Martins College of Art graduate: 'I admire Mary's extraordinary sense of printing techniques, colours and silhouette that will bring another amazing new aesthetic to the adidas originals women's collection.'
Adidas have partnered with several major designers and personalities including Pharrell Williams, Topshop, Raf Simons and Stella McCartney. Here at* Grazia* Towers we're already dreaming about a Mary Katrantzou trainer, and have come up with some of her prints we are dying to see on our feet...
