People Are Saying These M&S Wide Leg Jeans Have The ‘Perfect’ Fit – Even If You’re Petite

The high street stalwart has done it again.

At the moment, M&S is dominating the high street in terms of producing sell-out items which generate much discussion on the internet. From the scarf coat, which has just been restocked, to the leopard print jeans that generated a waiting list of 12,000 people, there are few brands creating such affordable products which lead to so much hype. The latest item to cause nigh-on hysteria? It's another pair of jeans.

As far as wide leg jeans go, it can be tricky to find a pair which fit properly. I'm 5"6 and I often find that wide legs are too long and too baggy on me, so I understand how difficult it must be for people of more petite proportions. One of my friends is 5"2 and says she had all but given up the search for a pair of wide leg jeans that didn't swamp her – that is, until she discovered this M&S pair.

The Wide Palazzo Leg Jeans are high waisted and flared from the top, which makes for a more flattering fit overall. Crucially, though, M&S offers three different types of fit – petite, regular and long – so that you can find the best for your shape. It seems obvious but few stores offer trousers in different lengths, with a one-size-fits-all perspective that we've all come to expect, particularly on the high street. So, it's no surprise that M&S' more inclusive approach has been such a hit; these jeans have been all over our Instagram and TikTok feeds and, as mentioned, some of my friends have been furiously Whatsapping to wax lyrical about them, too.

Available in three different washes, they are selling quickly, which is perhaps the only drawback to these jeans. At £45, though, you can't blame those who have already added them to their baskets. Smarten them up by tucking in shirts, pair with cropped cardigans and heeled boots for a chic weekend outfit or simply wear with your favourite T-shirt and trainers – you really can't go wrong.

If your size has sold out, you can try and locate a pair in a store near you or, alternatively, sign up for notifications when they're back in stock. Knowing M&S, it will be quick to replenish these 'perfect' jeans, due to high customer demand.
