Lena Dunham was the talk of the Emmys thanks to her opinion-dividing Giambattista Valli dress-meets-shirt. But the second most tweeted girl of the night was Lizzy Caplan. There was no debate over her Donna Karan Atelier gown - just a LOT of heart eyes emojis.

The Emmys would have been nothing without Lizzy's Donna Karan Atelier gown. The Masters of Sex star - who was nominated for the Best Actress gong - wore a black and white Donna Karan Atelier gown with rib-grazing cut-outs, a halter neckline and criss-cross straps at the back. It's a red carpet rarity: a dress that becomes more perfect with every angle. It even got the thumbs up from Joan Rivers.

Behind every great red carpet-er, there is a great stylist. Lizzy works with celebrity stylist Ilaria Urbinati, who also styles fashion darlings Shailene Woodley and Nina Dobrev. She also dresses 28 men including Ryan Reynolds and BRADLEY COOPER. Lizzy might not have Instagram (why Lizzy, WHY?), but Ilaria is known to share an Instagram from their fittings.

Ilaria said exclusively to Grazia Daily: "We found the dress pretty early on - at the very first fitting actually. The Donna Karan Atelier team sent me sketches of gowns and this was my favourite. It was originally an all black gown so I asked them if they could make the back in white instead. I loved the idea of a black and white look. Very timeless which I like for her first Emmy nomination."
"We didn't want anything too overtly sexy because there's so much nudity on the show," Ilaria added. "She loved that the dress was super comfortable."

Now if you're sat there not quite sure who Lizzy Caplan is, we have two words for you: JANIS IAN. Swap the chignon for a hair slide and you've got Cady Heron's non-plastic friend in Mean Girls. You know, the one who put foot cream on Regina George's face.
Lizzy Caplan has come a long way since bringing Regina down - she is officially our new red carpet crush. Just this month she has worn a maroon lace Valentino halter neck gown, a Roksanda pink, white and black wrap skirt and a yellow Cushnie et Ochs dress with a nipped in waist and sheer sleeves.
