Let’s face it - fairy tales aren't just for kids. Because who wouldn't want to lead a charmed life full of fabulous gowns? And kisses from dashing princes too. Yep - while we no longer believe in magic, the lure of a princess lifestyle hasn't lost its appeal and that’s probably why we are so very excited about Disney's brand new adaptation of Cinderella - and its heroine, played by the thoroughly British Lily James.
But before you head to the cinema to get lost in the world of pretty dresses, jewel-encrusted tiaras and a world without council tax, let's all take a minute to appreciate Lily's red carpet beauty. Sophisticated, radiant and understated, Lily's bold brows and peaches-and-cream complexion make her look every inch the modern day princess. We love how she blends traditional fairy tale elements (long, flowing hair, glowing skin) with modern twists (teased-out waves, slightly winged liner).
Last night at the UK premiere, she chanelled the original Cinderella in a blue gown and with icy blonde locks, but put her own spin on it with a pink stained lip and smudged kohl liner. Props to Lily for not going into makeup overkill – We imagine that when you are playing the world's most famous princess, it could be pretty tempting to get lost in a world of pastel pink everything. Lily's beauty looks can be credited to the Streicher sisters, aka Ashley and Jennifer, who do the star’s hair and makeup respectively. Working with Lily throughout the film’s press run, the dream team have taken all kinds of cute snaps which you can see on their Instagram feed.
