Leigh Lezark On Wishing She Was Taller & The Items She Can’t Live Without

1. Who are you closest to?

Leigh Lezark: A lot of people – my boyfriend, my friends, designers I work with and, of course, my DJ partners. We’ve spent so much time together travelling the world DJ-ing ever since we met when we were teenagers in a nightclub in New York.

2. What is your earliest memory?

Leigh Lezark: Going to New York as a child and feeling very drawn to the city.

3. What's your biggest fear?

Leigh Lezark: Home invasion.

4. What is relaxation to you?

Leigh Lezark: I am always travelling for work, so when I do get a chance to relax, it is normally in a spa having a few treatments or lying on the beach, usually somewhere in Bali with a fruity cocktail.

5. What are you best at?

Leigh Lezark: First and foremost I’m a DJ, and this coming year Misshapes will release our first CD. It will be the first in a series of seasonal compilations, with remixes by us, and musical contributions from our friends and artists we love. I am also quite good at taking photos, but it’s more of a personal interest. I’ve never tried to do it professionally.

6. What do you value in a partner?

Leigh Lezark: Someone who can make me laugh.

7. What's the one thing you would change about your life?

Leigh Lezark: I’d like to be taller. Heels are a must for me. The higher, the better!

8. What item can't you live without?

Leigh Lezark: My Leica camera – wherever I go around the world, I make sure I take photos to keep as memories. My iPhone and a pair of sunnies – at the moment my faves are my limited-edition Sportmax and Cutler And Gross.

9. Describe the last time you remember feeling really happy?

Leigh Lezark: Today! I’m in São Paulo right now, attending Chanel’s The Little Black Jacket book launch and exhibition of the photos Karl Lagerfeld took and Carine Roitfeld styled. I love the photograph of me from the project. It’s the third time I have been to Brazil and I love it here – the people, the music, the natural beauty of the place, the art and, of course, the carnival.

10. Tell us something about yourself that will shock us.

Leigh Lezark: My hair colour is naturally blonde but I have been dyeing it since the age of 10. I have had blue tips, purple streaks, pink, bleached, and My So-Called Life’s Angela Chase red. Then came the black bob, which has stayed.
