Keira Knightley Reveals Her Maternity Style Rules At The SAG Awards

At the SAG Awards on Sunday evening Keira Knightley looked beautiful in a rich purple Erdem lace gown. It had a layered lace skirt, with a sheer neckline and ties at the shoulder. Keira, who is expecting her first child, is always a red carpet dream.

Keira spoke on the red carpet on Sunday about how pregnancy is changing her style. Don't expect Keira to do an Olivia Wilde in body-hugging sequins, as she joked to* E! News* hat her "waist has disappeared."

She said: “Does it make it harder? It just means that you’re not going to wear anything tight, for me. Actually people do wear tight things don’t they, when they’re pregnant. I don’t want to go for that. There we go, so it’s just all quite loose, which is quite nice. I’m quite comfortable."

She added: "The shoes are quite high, they may come off later. I can kind of go, ‘well I’m pregnant, so my shoes have to come off and nobody is allowed to say anything which is nice.’” We like your style Keira.

"Loose maternity dresses" in Keira Knightley world doesn't mean looking like a tent. Oh no. So far her awards season looks include a grey Delpozo flowing gown with a pleated train, cute collar and embellished buttoned up bodice.

Then we come to her Chanel maternity-wear. At the Golden Globes she wore an opinion-dividing butterfly print Chanel gown with a Little House On The Prairie neckline and layered skirt. At the Producers Guild Awards this weekend she wore a Chanel resort dress with a white blouse top with floral detailing and a mosaic-effect coloured print midi skirt. Could Chanel be on the cards for the Oscars?

Keira spoke to the Los Angeles Times about how she is thinking about gender stereotyping raising her child. She said: "I think it's very important to raise boys who are feminists and very important to raise girls who don't expect Prince Charming and allow men to be emotional and weak at points and strong at points. We're looking for equality and not gender stereotypes. But the real answer is … I don't know. It's one of the thousand million intimidating things I'm thinking about lately."
