According to Vogue, the trend for small tops and big trousers originated on @microwavedtuna’s TikTok, with the user’s ‘Show me your fits’ video asking, ‘Show me your big shirt, big pants,’ then, ‘Show me your little shirt, big pants,’ and so on.

Katie’s taken the trend for ‘little shirts, big pants’ in her stride, with a series of white tee, wide-leg jeans outfits over the past month that have got to be the ultimate way to deal with sticky summer temperatures in style. Her pairing on 31 July was particularly on-point. Katie’s high-waisted jeans with white stitching (Ulla Johnson) performed the perfect balancing act with her white tank top, chain necklace and messy bun.
