If you’re planning brunch, lunch and cocktail ‘dates’ this long weekend, and have exhausted your screen-worthy outfits, Kate Middleton has the answer. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge jumped on a call yesterday with Casterton Primary Academy to thank teachers for their dedication and chat to pupils whose parents are working on the frontline of the crisis.
Kate, ever the master of diplomatic dressing, chose a cheerful waist-up ‘fit, wearing a bright block colour to pop against the neutral background and a discreet pair of earrings. The sunshine-coloured jumper was from Zara - £29.99 and sadly out of stock - while the fern-shaped earrings were Catherine Zoraida, one of Kate’s go-tos for not-too-shouty statement pieces.
The jumper might be sold out, but the high street has plenty of smile-inducing options. J.Crew’s cashmere turtleneck comes in almost every shade of the rainbow, including Neon Berry, Golden Topaz and Light Melon, while COS’s grass green jumper is a great way of bringing the outdoors in.
For daytime calls, seek out a pair of earrings that is statement-making without being distracting. Dinny Hall’s hanging hearts have happy vibes, Timeless Pearly’s mismatched pair will make friends look-twice and Maria Black’s embellished huggie hoop has go-with-everything appeal.
What you wear on the bottom half - whether it’s PJ pants, yoga leggings or jeans - is entirely your call.
