For years and years the Princess of Wales has shown her love for red and has repeatedly turned to the bold hue for some of her most memorable looks. From the festive Catherine Walker coat dress she wore last November to the V-neck Alexander McQueen dress she chose for Ascot, Kate Middleton seems to love red more than anything she wears. Among Middleton's favourite scarlet-coloured pieces is one particular red coat she can't stop wearing, first in 2020 and then again last year - a bespoke Alexander McQueen number.

While we can't all have a wardrobe filled with custom McQueen, high street brand Nobody's Child has just released a very similar red coat that looks like it was practically plucked from the Princess of Wales' wardrobe. Much like Middleton's go-to piece, the Red Double Breasted Wool-Blend Coat has both timeless tailoring and modern flair. Its longline cut, sharp lapels and double-breasted detailing means it wouldn't look out of place at a dressed-up event - or alternatively, on your morning commute.

Nobody's Child is already calling the red coat 'the coat of the season' and we're putting this down to its versatility. For the daytime, layer the coat over a chunky knit and straight-leg jeans, and pair with pointed boots or classic loafers. For something more evening-appropriate, use the coat as a statement piece and drape it over an LBD and accessorise with heels and gold jewellery. Regardless, the red coat echoes the kind of polished elegance the Princess has perfected over the years.

The power of a pop of red was certainly one of the most defining trends of AW23, and it looks like it's not going anywhere. This crimson coat from Nobody's Child is just like the one we've spotted on the Princess of Wales, featuring similar style double breasted buttons, as well as an almost identical classic collar and long length.

If the bold red colour isn't for you and you're looking for something more subtle, this one comes in a multicoloured check that will pair with most things you already have in your wardrobe. Although it features a more classic print, the design is still contemporary, with double breasted buttons, a classic collar and flap pockets.

Brown Double Breasted Trench CoatNobody's Child

The Nobody's Child neutral trench coat is made from organic cotton and has an oversized (yet flattering) fit. Other great features include its classic collar and cuff detailing, as well as double breasted buttons. Inside the trench is printed with check, which brands are loving this AW as we've seen Sézane's trench sell out with a similar style.

If the maxi length isn't for you, Nobody's Child also does the same cosy wool design in a cropped silhouette. Crafted from recycled materials and blended with wool, the Grey Wool Cropped Jacket comes complete with a cute collar and a line of black buttons down the front.

Alternatively, if you like the maxi length, the same grey coat comes in this style too. Featuring double breasted buttons and large lapels, the grey colour makes it really easy to style - either with all-black or more earthy tones.
