Congratulations! Duchess Of Cambridge Is Pregnant With Her Second Child

UPDATE: Prince William has revealed he's 'thrilled' that his wife, the Duchess Catherine, is pregnant. The 32-year-old royal was greeted with huge cheers from a big crowd in Oxford today following the couple's announcement this morning that Kate is expecting their second child, but he admitted it has been a "tricky" last week because of her severe morning sickness.

Speaking at Oxford University today, where he was opening a Chinese studies building, Wills added: "It's been a tricky few days - week or so - but obviously we're basically thrilled, it's great news, and early days. "We're hoping things settle down and she feels a bit better."

Kensington Palace have just announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second child. This announcement comes one year and two months after the birth of Prince George.

The release says that "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news." The new royal baby will be born fourth in line to the throne, making Prince Harry fifth in line.

The announcement from the royal couple says that The Duchess is suffering from the same condition as with her last pregnancy, being treated for severe morning sickness. When Kate last suffered with this condition she was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital, however she is currently being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.

The announcement reads: "As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."

The Duchess of Cambridge will no longer accompany William on their scheduled visit in Oxford today. There is no word so far on whether Kate will still go ahead with her first solo foreign visit to Malta at the end of this month.

The Royal couple had their first child - Prince George - last July. Never had a baby's arrival been so eagerly anticipated the world over.

The Duke of Cambridge said in an interview about how fatherhood changed him: “Something I never thought I would feel myself. And I find, again it’s only been a short period, but a lot of things affect me differently now.”

He said of the media attention when leaving the Lindo Wing: “I think I was on such a high anyway, and so was Catherine about George that really we were happy to show him off to whoever wanted to see him. As any new parent knows, you’re only too happy to show off your new child and, you know, proclaim that he is the best looking or the best everything. It’s nice that people want to see George, so, you know - I’m just glad he wasn’t screaming his head off the whole way through.”
