Meet The Brand That Is Fast Becoming The Royals’ Secret Style Weapon

And no, it doesn't cost four figures.

Kate Middleton Me+Em

Yesterday at Royal Ascot, Carole Middleton arrived wearing a rose pink dress that super fans of her daughter's might have recognised. Kate Middleton has, in fact, already sported the pleated style in Scotland - she wore it for last year's meeting with Mia Sneddon, to whom she promised to wear a pink princess dress if they ever met in person - and must have either lent it to mum or tipped her off about where it's from: Me+Em.

The British brand, founded by Clare Hornby, believes in 'intelligent style for intelligent women' - and is fast becoming the royals' secret style weapon.

Not only is it a favourite among two generations of Middletons - Carole, Kate and sister Pippa, who wore one of its dresses to the Platinum Party at the Palace - but it's also found a fan in Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

She chose one of its floral dresses - a blossom-sprigged blue and pink style with long sleeves and a maxi hemline - to visit Belfast, where she and her husband, Edward, greeted the crowds on a walkabout as part of the Platinum Jubilee.

It's not hard to see why the label has positioned itself as the thinking woman's go-to. Its hard-working clothes side-step trends for pieces that will stand the test of time (think tailored trousers that look crisp yet cool; blazers without the bells and whistles; and the chicest work blouses around). Well, it's certainly got the royal assent.
