Johnny Depp Advised Gwyneth Paltrow On Chris Martin Split

Before splitting from Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow sought advice from someone who wasn't a vagina steamer, aura cleanser or high wizard of tarot magic.

In fact, the person that Gwyn turned to in her hour of need was - dramatic pause - her Mortdecai co-star Johnny Depp.

In a new interview with Marie Claire Australia, Gwyneth, 42, has revealed that she discreetly asked Johnny about splitting from Vanessa Paradis after 14 years. Johnny and Vanessa have a daughter Lily-Rose, 15, and son Jack, 12, and Gwyneth wanted help understanding how best to break news of her own split to Apple, 10, and Moses, eight

She told the magazine: "Nobody knew what Chris and I had been going through, so I didn't say 'Hey, this is what's happening.' But I did ask him mostly children-centric questions, like 'How is it on them? How did you do it?' "

Gwyn's latest profile also suggests that she bought a new house for herself in Brentwood, California back in 2012 and that she and Chris went through "a year of quiet separation" before announcing their conscious uncoupling last March, after 10 years of marriage.
