The weather might not be playing ball but it's still April, which means summer dress season is just around the corner. If you're struggling to remember the last time you actually wore a dress, now is your moment to dig out your collection - or perhaps think about treating yourself to something new (and carefully-chosen). John Lewis has just the ticket. Today sees the launch of its exclusive summer dress collection of 16 styles, with prices starting from a very reasonable £30 (and stretching to £150).
As well as styles from its in-house brands (ANYDAY, AND/OR and Somerset by Alice Temperley), John Lewis has partnered with some of its seriously popular high street labels - highlights include Kemi Telford, Mint Velvet, Baukjen, Isabella Oliver, Nobody's Child and Whistles - to produce a collection in a spectrum of summery blues and greens that will prove tempting if you're been living in navy and neutrals all winter.
Kemi Telford's short-sleeved shirt dresses are particularly special. One is peacock blue and printed, featuring the kind of cinched waist and flared skirt that will instantly flatter, while the other has a similar silhouette but in tiered denim. I also love the creamy polka dot style from Thought, which comes with fluttering capped sleeves (perfect for high-summer), and the sunflower-print midi from Whistles (one of its most popular dress styles since last year). Now all we need is some sun.
