France's most famous fashion designer may have retired from ready-to-wear last autumn but his haute couture collection, launched in 1997, is still going strong. Here are five things we loved.
1. The seating
A pretty posy of white anemones and fresh, green leaves was placed with show notes on every seat. How chic.
2. Named exits
The looks at Gaultier Paris have always been named and numbered, a nod to the way haute couture was presented in its mid-Twentieth Century glory days, but always with a twist. This time out came Just Married, for example, To Bi Or Not To Bi and Madame Porte La Culotte.
3. Tailoring
Strong-shouldered, lean, leggy and often asymmetric, this is a time-honoured signature here.
4. Diverse Casting
Hats off to M Gaultier who has always cast women - and indeed men - of different ages, colour, body shape and size on his runway. This time was no exception.
5. Naomi
Gorgeous as ever smiling ear to ear in nothing more obviously haute than plastic and flowers.
