**In this week's issue of Grazia, just before the start of London Fashion Week on Friday, our fashion shoot focuses on the best of the autumn winter 2014 collections. Our Senior Fashion Editor, Gemma Hayward, talks us through the shoot... **
When I saw the London fashion week shows in February, I loved how eclectic the vibe was. There was a nod towards geek chic and an even bigger nod towards grannyesque wardrobes. This season you can get away with throwing lots of colours and textures together and it just works. So that was the starting point of this week's London Collections shoot: chic grannies!
The setting was a modern London house to let the clothes do the talking. Hair stylist, Peter Beckett created a natural looking wave to the hair whilst Jose Bass, our makeup artist, kept skin fresh- which wasn’t a problem seeing as Harriet our model was such a natural beauty.
Videographer, Dino Dimopoulos followed Harriet moving through the house and out on the street whilst she sported an eccentric mixture of London’s finest. Amongst the looks, Harriet wore a mustard Peter Jensen suit whilst shoulder-robing a Giles coat before showing-off some rather wonderful Sophia Webster shoes, a marvelous fluffy blue Marques Almeida wrap and an embellished Roksanda dress, which just seems too good to be wearing inside the house.
When it comes down to picking my favourite look from this shoot its a tough one! I’m torn between the printed Matthew Williamson mini dress worn with the sparkling Ashish denim jacket or the red knitted Sibling jacket – but they are both as gloriously and glamorously granny-fied as they could get.
