H&M has pledged to only use recycled and sustainably-sourced materials for all its clothes by 2030. While this will require a significant overhaul of the brand's current business model, it has just made a step in the right direction with a new collection of dresses. Each dress is made from either organic cotton, Tencel or recycled polyester, while those composed of blended fabrics are at least 50% sustainable. And they're already a hug hit on social media.
The brand is expecting the oversized, Pepto-Bismol pink midi to be a particular success and, indeed, it is already the most-Instagrammed style as seen on the likes of Vogue Williams, as well as influencers Annam Ahmad, Debbie Le and Alex Serruys. The fact that it is just £19.99 is a bonus.
Other styles include a balloon sleeve floral dress (£34.99, already worn by Emma Louise Connolly), puff sleeve black minis and [purple broderie anglaise styles {href='https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0857271001.html' target='_blank' rel='noopener noreferrer'}).
Naturally, with dresses as great as these (and at such an affordable price) they'll undoubtedly sell quickly. And just think – for just £14.99, you can have a brand new, sustainable dress to wear to the pub when it finally opens. Now that is good news.
