When it comes to Halloween, fancy dress can be a tricky feat to master. You don't want to look like every other cute-eared cat-person or go down the well-trodden route of dressing as a sexy nurse/witch/pirate. But there's one easy peasy way to stand out: channelling your favourite screen icon.
And there's no better source of inspiration than Hollywood. Take Rita Ora who stepped into character for Jonathan Ross' annual bash as Elle Woods from Legally Blonde complete with a blonde bouffant, skimpy hot pink ensemble and fluffy white dog.

Kelly Osbourne also took a cue from the world of film by dressing up as Margot Tenenbaum (Gwyneth Paltrow's brilliant character in The Royal Tenenbaums) courtesy of a blunt bob while Lily Allen was a dead ringer for Wednesday Addams. Then there's Rihanna who, umm, channelled a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle...
But it's not just the silver screen that serves as inspiration - some of our favourite stars looked to real life icons for their costumes. Loved-up love birds Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting decided to emulate Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber - but with the genders reversed. Now that's scary!
Brilliantly, Kim Kardashian donned a shiny wig to mimic her new BFF, Anna Wintour. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? To really seal the deal, Kim polished off the look with her very own daughter, North West dressed as Wintour's counterpart, Andre Leon Talley. Adorable or terrifying? We can't decide.
