Calm down everyone, Lena Dunham isn't engaged after all.
The Girls star prompted speculation that she might be set to marry her boyfriend of two-and-a-half-years Jack Antonoff when she posted an Instagram picture of herself pointing to a ring on her left hand.
But in an exclusive interview with Grazia, Lena tells us we should all learn to chill out a bit. 'That is a friendship ring', she explained. 'It's one of a stack of three that Jenni Konner {who co-writes the show} and I have collected over the last four years.'
In fact, Lena has no plans to marry until gay marriage is legalised in every state. 'It's really important for us to wait, because we both have a lot of gay friends and the idea of skipping ahead doesn't feel good to us', she said. 'I don't want to do somthing my gay sister {Grace, 22} can't do in a number of states.'
Not that their principles stopped the couple's friends getting overexcited. 'Jack's friends were texting, "Congratulations on the big news"', Lena continued. 'Finally I had to say something because soon people were going to start getting offended that they weren't invited to our non-existent wedding.'
