If you’ve just managed to wean yourself off a daily outfit cycle of sweatshirts and jogging bottoms, your resolve is about to be tested. Big time. Ganni has just launched its very first loungewear collection, Software. The best news? It’s not only seriously easy-on-the-eyes (and skin) but is sustainable, representing a big leap forward for the brand in terms of traceability.
Consisting of tees, sweatshirts, jogging bottoms and hoodies - in pleasingly pared-back shades of white, ecru, grey and black, although new colours will be added to these evergreen hues in future seasons - the collection is made from EcoLife®’s 100% recycled yarn (50% post-consumer recycled polyester, and 50% pre-consumer recycled cotton. It’s also intended to be a never-out-of-stock collection - something fans will know is a very special thing indeed for Ganni.
When it comes to traceability, the brand is aiming for 100% in the future. For now, Software’s supply chain is 75% traceable on stages 1-3. What this means in layman’s terms is that they’ve basically managed to gather primary data across the supply chain to properly access each product’s environmental impact; something that’s incredibly hard to do.
‘We wanted to create something off-duty that felt fun and effortless, but above all responsible. We’re also really proud to have reached 75% traceability in stages 1-3 of the supply chain across this collection – but our goal is to reach 100% traceability in the future,’ says creative director Ditte Reffstrup.
