Tonight Victoria Beckham was given the philanthropic award at the fifth annual Global Gift Gala, which is organised by her close friend Eva Longoria. It's been quite the year for VB - as well as opening her she first London store and reigning New York Fashion Week, she became a UN Goodwill Ambassador and auctioned some of her iconic wardrobe for Mothers2Mothers.
Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria became close friends when the Beckhams moved to Los Angeles. The pair hit the red carpet at the Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane in matching Victoria Beckham black column gowns. Always a sign of a good friendship.
On the red carpet we chatted to Eva Longoria about Victoria's work for the UN, how they've been catching up in London and what it's really like to get ready with VB...

Congratulations on the event...
Eva: 'It's our fifth year here in London so it's a really special night. It's extra special because I get to share it with two of my favourite people in the world (Ricky Martin and Victoria Beckham) and it's really nice to share this passion with them.'
Does it mean a lot for you to be able to share tonight with Victoria...
Eva: 'It means a lot for me to honour Victoria because her work with the UN is so new and she's so excited and energised about it. She's been to Africa twice. She's done a lot to educate herself on the problems and she's picked this foundation Mothers2Mothers. She's doing so much and not everyone knows what she's doing - everyone knows her as this fashion icon and fashonista, but I think people should know her as the mother, the daughter, the humanitarian that she is.'
You look amazing, tell us about your dress...
Eva: 'This is Victoria! (points at gown) Victoria! (points at clutch bag). She did pick it for me. She's amazing! The only thing is getting my bum in the dress...'

What are some of Victoria's best qualities...
Eva: 'Outside of her philanthropy she's the funniest person I know. She's probably my funniest friend. She has so many jokes. Tonight we were getting ready and she couldn't stop singing 'She Bangs, She bangs, She Bangs' by Ricky Martin. She said 'I'm going to go to sleep singing this song! Until Ricky dances out the video.' Then Ricky goes 'let's go on stage and sing it' and she goes 'err, no. It sounds better in my mind.'
Do you have time to hang out with her?
**Eva: **'Yes we have hung out a LOT. Harper is my goddaughter so I was able to see her on this trip. We just like to stay home, have dinner at the house, we went to her store and then today we got ready together. It's so much fun when we get to spend all that time together, because I have really missed her since she left LA. We're both really bummed.'

What did she say when you told her she was going to win this award?
Eva: 'She's very humble and doesn't like to be awarded or honoured. She knows the Global Gift Gala is an amazing thing that we have been doing. She came last year and she saw and she remembered how moving it was and all the foundations we talked about. She was in tears last year at this event so when I said we want to honour you, she knew that we would bring awareness to the cause which is really dear to her - Mothers2Mothers for the UN.
Were you the one to tell her?
Eva: 'Yes I called her. At first she was like 'don't honour me' - she doesn't like to be fussed about. I said this is going to be a great thing for everyone to know that you do so much stuff outside of fashion - and she does, she's an amazing human being.'

Do you think she'll shed a few tears tonight?
Eva: 'I don't know! We'll see, we'll see. We hope. That's the goal right?'
