Who doesn’t love classic timeless footwear that complements all trends and can be worn season after season? “La semplicità è l'ultima sofisticazione” – or to you and I – “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” – is an expression central to Italian culture, the masters of timeless simplicity. Renowned for their authentic and uncomplicated iconic cuisine, their laid-back lifestyle, and perhaps most famously, their effortless sense of style – they are undeniably the curators of capsule, well, everything!

Superga

Emily Ratajkowski is Superga’s newest brand ambassador for 2022 and to celebrate the collaboration, she’s designed a limited capsule collection. Italian heritage shines through in Superga’s designs, and Emily’s new capsule collection is the perfect addition to this stylish Italian brand’s spring/summer 22 range. Emily tells Grazia, “The partnership came from me just wearing the shoes and being photographed in them in New York. Superga reached out and I was super excited to work with them and just stick to the DNA of the brand. They were like, ‘What are your crazy ideas?’, but I just love the simple sneaker. I feel like that’s what makes them unique, special and kind of outlandish.” True to her word, sticking to the DNA of the brand is exactly what she’s done with her hand-picked selection of classic Superga’s.

Superga

In fact, some of the most iconic Superga styles can be found in Emily’s capsule collection, including the Superga 2750, a style conceived as the first Italian tennis shoe over 100 years ago, and the Alpina, known for trekking back in the 50s. Emily’s personal touch is a subtle tweak, simply making the bindings an off-white colour, and rounding the shape of the laces – in keeping with the classic and simple Italian roots of the brand. Emily explains to Grazia that she’s a big fan of Italian fashion influence, “There’s something so clean and beautiful about it, it feels nostalgic, while also feeling really modern.”

So, whether you’re heading out for brunch, lunch or drinks, or if you’re looking to earn your badge as the best-dressed in the office, this versatile and modern collection is the perfect foundation to any outfit. To style, we’re taking a leaf out of Emily’s book by teaming our Superga's with minimalist pieces. Think relaxed tailoring, soft shades of denim, sporty tank tops and over-sized light knits.
