It was only yesterday that we were trilling about the wonders of Amal Alamuddin's bridal style as we eagerly await official photos of her marriage to Hollywood's most eligible bachelor (his name's George Clooney, BTW). And today we have confirmation of who designed The Dress!

It wasn't Alexander McQueen, as was rumoured, or Giambattista Valli, the couture designer who provided her getaway outfit. Nope, it was in fact drum roll please Oscar de la Renta. Bellissimo! As for the groom, George wore a suit by Milan Fashion Week stalwart, Giorgio Armani.

After a weekend of speculation, Clooney's camp confirmed to WWD that the bride did indeed wear an Oscar de la Renta creation. It's a perfect choice for the Hollywood-in-Venice wedding considering the New York Fashion Week designer has Italian heritage and is famed for his va-va-voom bridal creations.

We wonder if Anna Wintour, who was at the wedding and is Oscar's BFF, had a part to play in the decision. Either way, we applaud Amal's choice. She follows in the footsteps of A-list types including Kate Bosworthwho opted for a ODLR gown on her Big Day.
