In the waist-up dressing era, statement earrings rule supreme. There’s one pair in particular that’s received constant celebrity endorsement over the past few months. Maya Rudolph styled them with a scraped-back bun, Adwoa Aboah with a scoop-neck top and Daisy Edgar-Jones with a jazzy jumper. They’re Completedworks’s Scrunch earrings - and they’re still available for £350 .
Taking inspiration from a scrunchie, their appeal lies in their size (attention-seekingly chunky), door-knocker shape (they’d be right up Alexis Carrington’s street today) and classic-with-a-twist aesthetic.
The London-based brand, led by artistic director Anna Jewsbury, is becoming known for its sculptural pieces with serious look-twice potential, like its freshwater pearl ear cuff and its gold-plated hair barette that looks like melting chocolate.
It’s a favourite of Jodie Comer’s, who also owns the brand’s gold spiral earrings finished with a drop pearl, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s, who wore the Scrunch earrings back in April. More recently, Daisy Edgar-Jones wore them for her own Zoom call, styling hers with Alberta Ferretti's Gemini jumper.
While Completed Works' earrings are an investment at £350, you can also find a host of great gold jewels on the the high street - and they’ll still deliver the same punch on Zoom.
