Last week Mayfair’s Dover Street was lit by a stream of A-listers trouping between Automat and a brand new boutique called Chucs Dive and Mountain Shop. Charles Finch, agent, publisher, and global charm monger launched his brand and all his famous pals came to look. Thompson and Wise, Geldof and Walliams, piled into the cosy tactile environment. The interior and product evoke a wholesome, blissful lifestyle doing active stuff in places like Jamaica, Africa and The South of France. Giles Deacon designed a print for the swimwear (women’s, too), but the best pieces for February are the ribbed round neck jumper with elbow pads and the cashmere ribbed hat. They’re nonchalantly chic, without appearing to give a hoot. A lot like Charles then; 'A man's finest hour is often not in the office or the boardroom, but on the sports field, the hill and the sea!' Quite.
