Season in, season out,the Chanel shownever fails to wow us with a stunning beauty look. And yesterday’s show at Paris Fashion Week was no exception - yet this time, it was because there was no uniform beauty look.

Instead of one matching catwalk army, for Spring Summer 2015, Chanel embraced the models’ quirks. Some girls went all-natural, some donned brightly coloured eye shadow under super-sized aviators and some wore heavy black eyeliner. It was quite the beauty mix up.

“Ladies First”, “He is She” and “Feminist but Feminine” were just some of the messages being shouted from (very chic) quilted megaphones as the likes of Cara Delevingne and Gisele Bundchen stomped down Boulevard Chanel. Us beauty girls cannot help but notice that such messages were not just pro gender equality but pro makeup choice, too.

As hair pro Sam McKnight explained, “Karl wanted all the girls to have their own natural look. As every model has different hair, so each way of perfecting her look differed, too.” McKnight was using Phyto 7 Hydrating Day Cream to smooth and moisturise dry ends (especially on Gisele’s super-thick strands, so we’ve heard) and Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray on others for catwalk-worthy volume. He also added, “Some had no need for me at all.”

And makeup maestro Tom Pecheux was also backstage fully embracing the “Be Different” mindset as he worked with each girl individually to enhance their features. From winged eyeliner to statement pouts, it’s safe to say this is one strong beauty message. Coming from a Chanel megaphone (or not), the French fashion house proved that being yourself and embracing your quirks is actually très chic.
