This week Models.com listed their rankings of models based on their covers, catwalk appearances, campaigns and following. Leading the list we have Edie Campbell, followed by Anna Ewers, Malaika Firth, Natalie Westling and Gigi Hadid in the top 10. Other girls in the list include Kendall Jenner, Lindsay Wixson, Sam Rollinson and Binx Walton. But it has raised a few eyebrows (sorry, we couldn't let that one slide) on the web that Cara Delevingne is missing from the list.
This list is reported to be based on factors including the numbers of shows walked and editorial work, so many of the big models are missing including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Jourdan Dunn. Don't panic, Cara Delevingne hasn't been snubbed by the list - she appears in models.com's 'new supers' list along with Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima and Miranda Kerr.
These high profile names are more likely to be found on the highest earnings list. This year Cara came in at number 6 on the highest earning model list, after taking home a reported $3.5 million thanks to contracts with Mulberry, Burberry, Yves Saint Laurent beauty and DKNY.
Cara has been more selective with her modelling work this year, starring in major campaigns and walking in shows she has relationships with. She has been vocal about how she is turning her focus to acting over modelling.
Cara said in an interview this year that modelling is not her passion: ‘I’ve got so much to learn, but I do know that you can’t learn to act if you don’t experience real life as well. Modelling is a great job, and I appreciate everything it has brought me, but it’s not my passion.’
