Listen Up 90s Kids, Blur’s Very Big House In The Country Is Up For Sale

The nineties have been thrown back into our lives at warp speed over the past few months. Chokers, Doc Martins, the Clueless musical. No matter what you think of the trend, it’s back with a bang. Die-hard fans can go one step further though, by living in the house that inspired darlings of the decade Blur’s first No. 1 hit, Country House{ =nofollow}.

The £2,000,000 house is being sold by the director of the band’s first two music videos, David Balfe. The song’s video was produced by artist Damien Hurst, who attended Goldsmith’s at the same time as Blur, and features the band being caught in a game of ‘Escape from the Rat Race’. It was nominated for the Best Video award at the 1996 Brits.

Fun fact - It also features a pre-Little Britain Matt Lucas, just to up the nostalgia factor.

Blur or no Blur, there’s no denying it’s a bit of an architectural beauty. It boasts seven bedrooms, five reception rooms, two family bathrooms and a separate annexe, presumably so you can practise your rendition of Park Life without disturbing anyone. It also comes with four acres of land.

While we’re getting our savings together and having those last all important conversations to with the bank, we can’t help but fantasise about other celebrity houses we’d love to live in. Is Brangelina selling their £10,000,000 Surrey mansion any time soon? What are the chances of having a snoop around Kate Moss and Jamie Hince’s Cotswolds pad? Whatever stars decide to up sticks and put their houses on the market, we have a sneaking suspicion our budget is more Band gig ticket than Band house.
