On April 12, as the high street prepared to open its doors as non-essential shops were given the green light, early bird shoppers patiently formed a queue at the ungodly hour of 6.30am outside Primark. And as expected, the high street behemoth had a barn-storming first week of trading. According to The Guardian, it only took six days to beat its previous seven-day record for sales in the UK.
But what exactly have people been rushing back to buy at one of its 161 stores? According to a spokesperson, Primark's seasonal trends performed particularly well. 'Favourites included our gelato-toned styles and gingham prints, as well as our new vintage mom-style denim.' And without an online presence, its customers also appeared to be stocking up on essentials the summer ahead, with tees, shorts and underwear across kids, menswear and womenswear fast to fly off the shelves. If you fancy a shopping trip IRL, here are the best-sellers you might want to look out for.
