In case you hadn't heard,bootcut jeans are enjoying a fairly spectacular comeback. Of all the styles I've seen, this Calvin Klein style has been the pair I can't stop thinking about. I think it's their original '90s vibes and chic polish but, either way, they've made a convert out of me.

If you, too, have been swept up in the current nostalgia for anything '90s-related, you will enjoy Dr. Martens' latest shoe launch. Buzz, a new chunky silhouette, looks like the sort of thing I used to dream about wearing instead of my boring regulation school shoes. Now I'm an adult, I'll be wearing them with ankle socks and short skirts. Sorry, mum!

As soon as I saw these, I wanted to ditch my trust loafers. A much cooler take on a classic boat shoe, these will work wonders with cropped jeans and mohair jumpers.

The forecast is bleak, so use that as an excuse to invest in a new raincoat that is stylish enough to not ruin the rest of your outfit. With its glossy finish and adjustable waist, this sure does beat that old anorak you're reluctant to pull out every time the heavens open.

Squashable clutch bags are big news for the new season and Jimmy Choo's new iteration of its Cinch bag is one of the best in which to invest. The leopard print won't ever date, while the shape and size make it ideal for day or night. Expect this to become a classic.

I really cannot stress enough the significance of a truly brilliant blazer in any wardrobe. This oversized fit from Acne is perfect – it won't overwhelm you but has all the right proportions – and will look great over a ribbed knit and jeans or slung over your favourite midi to smarten it up. If you really want to welcome 2025 with open arms, however, I'd suggest pairing with the matching trousers, for one of the most stylish iterations of the suit you'll find this season.

I'm not a jeans girl by nature but even I feel excited by the prospect of COS's new denim. While technically a straight leg fit, this pair is slouchy, too, giving you extra comfort without sacrificing on style. This is the easy (and chic) way to try a low-rise, which is one noughties trend that just won't quit at the moment.

Already, 2025 is awash with buzzy fashion collabs and the latest iteration of On's partnership with Loewe is leading that charge. This time, there's a fresh new design available in various colour combos, although some are selling faster than others. The moral of the story? Get these while you still can.

With its contrast stitching, this cardigan has luxe vibes with a very affordable £35 price tag. Wear with wide leg trousers for work, or try over a crisp white shirt and Mango's leggings (below) finished with Gucci's new pumps.

Comfort and style don't have to be mutually exclusive, which is possibly why Claudia Winkleman's outfits on The Traitors have proved so popular. One of the mainstays of her wardrobe is a great pair of leggings, of which this Mango pair is a great example. A kind of legging/trouser hybrid, these will look especially chic with loafers or pumps, oversized shirts and your favourite knit (see also: Acne's blazer, above).

ICYMI, Gucci's Horsebit pumps are already the ballet flat du jour, having been spotted on the likes of Daisy Edgar-Jones and Alexa Chung. The latest iteration to arrive is this dark green suede pair, which will require much less maintenance than Gucci's pink satin style. Wear with Mango's leggings and many layers now but then, come spring, try with cropped denim and a simple white T-shirt.

The longer version of this coat sold out in almost no time at all, so it stands to reason that this down-filled jacket will follow in its footsteps. Available in blue, olive green, black or natural, it will go over everything and still look good. Plus, it's about the warmest thing you could wear outside, short of removing your duvet from your bed and taking it with you.

If you're yet to find that perfect dress which suits both day and night, consider your search over for now. It's long length, knitted finish and long sleeves make it suitable for working weekdays (for those without a strict dress code), particularly when paired with knee-high boots and a long wool coat. For evening, the off-shoulder neckline and fitted bodice give it just the right amount of sex appeal – switch boots for pointed kitten heels.

You would have to have been living off-grid not to notice the ubiquity of suede bags at present. In fact, there are so many that we really are spoilt for choice, making it difficult to select just one style in which to invest. Thank goodness, then, for Arket's flat, slouchy style, which ticks all my boxes of having enough space for everything I need without being so big it's a burden to carry. Plus, the shape is one of the chicest I've seen yet.

Buttercup shades are big news at the moment, which happily brings a whispering of spring to January. This jumper will pair perfectly with jeans or high-waisted trousers but it will also make for the ideal ensemble when matched with Damson Madder's kilt skirt (below) and Prada's new leather loafers.

Kilts are enjoying something of a renaissance of late and this Damson Madder style is an easy way to wear one. Pair with a fluffy knit and loafers or try with sheer tights, pointed pumps and a translucent top for a more sensual take on the trend.
