This Suits-Everyone Swimwear Brand Just Confirmed It: Gingham Is The Print Of Summer 2025

The print has been given a summer glow-up.

Gone are the days when gingham was just for tablecloths and quaint garden parties. The print has undergone a serious style renaissance over the past few summers, dominating puff-sleeved dresses, co-ords and trending brands like Damson Madder, who doesn't seem to be able to keep the pattern in stock. It’s clear that last summer belonged to the new generation of gingham dresses, as well as that viral Peachy Den gingham two-piece. This year, however, gingham is set to dominate a different section of your wardrobe, namely your swimwear drawer.

Celebrities like Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, and Kaia Gerber have fully embraced the gingham comeback, making the print a wardrobe must-have (Hadid’s cowboy-core collection for Frankies Bikinis, featuring itsy-bitsy gingham swimmers, was clearly a sign of things to come). Many of our favourite high street retailers already have gingham-printed swimsuits on their sites, and if you’re looking for pieces to bookmark, head to Free People, Damson Madder (of course), and Hollister. It's, Hunza G, however, who is taking the print to the next level in the world of swimwear, with a collection that fuses style, comfort and innovation.

Its latest capsule marks a new chapter for the brand, debuting a textured seersucker fabrication and expanding its ready-to-wear line-up (its sun-drenched campaign also stars Luna Blaise, star of the upcoming summer blockbuster Jurassic World: Rebirth). Think high-cut bikinis, tonal trims, and beach-ready separates - all crafted from an Italian-sourced bi-stretch fabric that’s breathable, UV-protective, and dries on the body in minutes. Basically, it’s what you want to be wearing from beach club to city brunch - without any damp-and-sticky discomfort.

Giving that searches for gingham have increased by 46% in the past month, with 132K searches on Google, we can expect the print to get even more popular from now until September. Megan Watkins, head stylist at online fashion destination SilkFred, said, ‘We’ve definitely seen more customers gravitating towards gingham in their summer wardrobe choices. I think people are craving styles that feel joyful and timeless, rather than overly trend-driven. Gingham taps into that sense of summer carefree-ness. It’s a print that feels familiar and comforting, but still trendy and Instagram-ready.’

If you're worried about the print looking more picnic blanket than polished, Watkins says: ‘The key to modernising gingham is all in the silhouette. Instead of going full vintage pin-up, opt for contemporary cuts, perhaps a high-waisted bikini bottom with an asymmetric top, or a gingham dress with cut-outs or puff sleeves or bold collar.’ Pairing gingham with clean, timeless accessories, like leather sandals or an everyday necklace, also helps ground it in the now. It’s all about balance: mixing the sweetness of gingham with something a little more pared-back. Scroll to find our favourite styles on the internet.
