Chances are you've seen one of Bernadette's coveted dresses. Realised in silk, there are beautiful prints on offer, as well as sugary pastel shades and bold colours, all of which has contributed to the fact that the label, established by a mother-and-daughter duo and based in Antwerp, has become a stellar success in record timing.
Bernadette and Charlotte de Geyter are said duo behind the brand, and they're both cool and stylish in that annoyingly effortless way. Bernadette – the woman – is a former buyer for Ralph Lauren, while her daughter Charlotte trained at Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts – it is she who is responsible for the hand-drawn floral prints for which the brand has become known.
Capitalising on that success, Bernadette has now launched a capsule collection of bags, available at both Net-A-Porter and Mytheresa.com. And they are sheer joy. All in silk-satin, the bags range from neat clutches to top-handle totes, all bearing a different floral pattern.
As we emerge from January, you may be thinking about the endless amounts of weddings you're going to this year, or you may just be on the hunt for cheerful accessories to inject some life into your winter wardrobe. Either way, this is your answer. Any one of the bags would look super-chic with jeans, a simple tee and an oversized blazer, while they're some of the best occasion options I've seen. Given that the clutch has made a very chic comeback of late, they're a sound investment, too.
