She’s still Jenny from the Block, just with a much bigger wardrobe… Jennifer Lopez has been Mo Farah-ing her way through a fashion marathon over the past week in the US. Thanks to the promo trail for her latest movie, The Boy Next Door, the sartorial big guns have been in full scher-wing.
Not one to be deterred by the less-than-favourable NYC snow-scape, J Lo has powered on in killer coats with bare legs, often revealing a deeply v’d cleavage, thigh slits-to-there and, as always, a bloody good pout.
But her big entrance into 2015’s style charts really started at the Golden Globes; a heavily beaded, caped and plunging creation from one of her most trusted red carpet designers, Zuhair Murad, put her on many a best dressed list (including ours). Since then we’ve experienced further toned J-Lo moments to make us quiver at our desks in shame: cut-out waist-exposing frocks, crop tops, body-con scuba dresses… It’s the middle of January!
Add that to her recent perky bottom turn in a cover shoot for Complex magazine (photographed by the chap who often follows Rihanna on her holidays to document them in the most stylish instagram-fest possible: Steven Gomillion) and you could say Lopez is enjoying a reconnaissance.
It’s not all flesh-flashing though. Lopez has switched up the ultra-feminine factor on occasion: on-screen ultra-pretty ensembles of full, swishy skirts paired with skin-tight tops and equally tight ballet buns, soft pastels, furry finishes and tousled hair all look ladylike and approachable.
