ASOS 'try before you buy'

First they announced a new, super speedy same day delivery option, and now ASOS have upped their game again by launching a ‘try before you buy’ service.

Teaming up with Swedish payments firm Klarna, the service will be available to consumers via the ASOS mobile app, and follows Amazon Prime’s similar retail model (Amazon Prime Wardrobe’), which rolled out earlier this year.

It works in a straightforward way – customers order what they want, have a big trying-on session at home, and only pay for what they decide to keep. You have a generous window – 30 days – to decide what you want to keep and return, and you won’t be charged any interest.

Nicola Thompson, global trading director at Asos said: “We know people love the option of paying later only for the things they keep, and are excited to introduce this for customers shopping on our app in the UK."

The development is certainly welcome news for the time-poor – shopping for that beach/ski holiday when you’re tied to your desk just got a lot easier.
