The body of Tali Lennox's missing boyfriend Ian Jones has been found, authorities have confirmed.
The 32-year-old photographer and model vanished during a tragic kayaking trip with his 22-year-old girlfriend on the Hudson River on Saturday. The couple's kayak capsized and the pair were thought to be separated for a few minutes before Tali was rescued.
On Monday a body was pulled from the river matching Ian's description and authorities confirmed that it was Tali's boyfriend the following day.
Just hours before the tragic news Tali had spoken of her heartache posting a tribute to her Instagram page along with a picture of the couple. She wrote: ‘My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me. All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honor & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light.’
The tragic accident came just months after Tali successfully hosted her first art show in New York, using Ian as a model. She had stopped focusing on her own modelling career in order to concentrate on her artwork.
The pair had been dating for several years and it's since emerged that Ian was just weeks away from completing three years probation, after a run in with the law in 2010.
The photographer was arrested on December 16 2010 on a flight from New York to Los Angeles when he threatened to kill two flight attendants and the plane had to land in Chicago, at a cost of over $23,496.24 to the airline.
He agreed a plea deal and was sentenced to 14 months jail and after he was released from prison he was placed on three years supervised release. This was reportedly set to end on August 27th.
