Anne Hathaway Gap dress

Anne Hathaway is about to be part of the most fashionable sequel in the history of film. So, naturally, we've been studying her recent outfits to see if she's dropped any clues about the storylines, the sub-plots or, at the very least, the style of The Devil Wears Prada 2 (working title). And one look that warrants discussion - and which looks rather 'Andy in 2024' - is the white dress she wore earlier this year in Rome. White dress, of course, doesn't quite do justice to what, essentially, was a deconstructed shirt gown and which, unbuttoned to the waist and upper high while also falling off one shoulder, was a refreshing change from the usual red carpet fodder. And the best news? It wasn't Prada, but Gap.

Zac Posen, Gap's creative director, designed the shirt dress specially for Hathaway, reimagining the brand's classic white shirt in process while drawing inspiration from one style icon in particular. 'By incorporating elements like the shirt's collar and placket, and adding feminine touches with darting at the waist, we created a modern look that pays homage to the elegance of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday,' he said.

Not only was her dress made by one of your high street favourites, but it's available to buy for £120. Don't hang about because if there's ever been a white summer dress that's going to sell out before you can say 'gird your loins', it's going to be this one, which is limited-edition, made from 100% organic cotton and on sale as of today in sizes UK 6-18.
