Slightly bleary-eyed this morning, Grazia Daily popped down to the H&M store on Regent Street to witness the fashion carnage that was the Alexander Wang for H&M launch. Look at the queue! While we recover, here's a quick recap of what we learned...
2. Think fast
Shoppers were colour coded into time slots with wrist bands and each group only had ten minutes to shop the collection before their time was up. There were bouncers with whistles (!) that were blown at the 5 minutes-to-go mark. The pressure was well and truly ON.
3. Everyone wanted the cropped jumper
Sam (below) had been queuing since 5am but despite her commitment, some of the pieces she wanted had already sold out by the time she made it inside. When we peeked inside hers - and many others - bulging bags leaving the store, it was the cropped jumper that was part of the haul (in both colours, we might add).
4. Menswear was even crazier than women’s area
Shopper Summer told us that in the menswear section “everything was on the floor”, Sam described it as a “massacre” and there were reports of pushing and shoving from the BOYS. We even caught some men trying to push into the queue - witness the carnage in the video below...
