The 'Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty' exhibition doesn't open until 14 March, but it's already had a record-breaking number of bookings. Not a ticket owner? Don't worry as today the V&A have announced that they will be releasing 50,000 additional tickets. Phew!
The V&A have already sold a stonking 30,000 tickets and have sold out online for the first five weekends. This is breaking the museum's records for advance booking, with visitors coming from 57 countries from Panama to Indonesia.
Martin Roth, Director of the V&A, said: “With just two months to go, we are seeing an unprecedented demand for Savage Beauty but we also wanted to reassure people that there are still tickets available. We are committed to providing access to as many as possible during its 20-week run and so pleased to now offer many more opportunities to see this magnificent show in London.”
Pre-booking is recommended, but there will be 200 tickets available for purchase each day of the exhibition on a first-come-first-served basis. It has also been extended by two weeks, now running until 2 August 2015. There will also be extra early morning and evening slots added to accommodate more visitors.
At the exhibition there'll be no less than 200 ensembles and accessories which you can get up-close with, with each and every one proving why McQueen is hearlded as of the most innovative designers of his generation. It has been edited and expanded for the V&A, with 30 additional garments added to the exhibition that graced the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
