Alexa Chung's first sunglasses range, created in collaboration with Sunglass Hut, is no doubt everything that we expected it to be: undeniably cool, timeless but also timely. The limited-edition capsule collection features two styles and five pairs of sunglasses, of which the vintage frames and classic colours draw inspiration from the past.

The first style features an oval, thick frame, and is available in three colour variants: The three colour variants are: ivory and gradient grey lenses, black and dark grey lenses, and tortoiseshell and peach coloured lenses. The second has a slimmer, squared, boxy frame, and is available in quirkier colour-ways of black and deep purple lenses, and tortoiseshell and light green lenses.

Each pair of ALEXACHUNG x Sunglass Hut shades features Chung's signature logo on the right temple, which is just another reason to snap up one of these limited edition sunglasses.

Some of the new collection was debuted at Chung's LFW show only last week, where several of the catwalk models were seen donning the designer's new shades.

Speaking exclusively to Grazia, Chung revealed that she wanted this collection to be accessible and affordable: 'a treat, not a guilt item, [because] let’s face facts, you often sit on sunglasses and I personally loathe to spend copious amounts of money on something I will inevitably lose or break.’

The collection doesn't stray far from her personal style, which often draws upon iconic, vintage influences. She credits the inspiration for the range as a cross between Scott Walker (before he was in the Walker Brothers), Marcello Mastroianni’s sunglasses in Fellini’s 8½ and the 3D specs one borrows at the IMAX. The iconic fashion styles of ‘Anna Karina, Jackie O, Charlotte Rampling’ also contributed to her sunglass designs, she tells us.
