We've always wondered what it would be like to do karaoke with Alexa Chung - and now we know! It's all thanks to mytheresa.com's TUNES project, celebrating the union between the world of fashion, film and music - and who better to kick off the series than the beloved style icon?
In keeping with her super-cool roots, Alexa was commissioned to record an original cover of Stevie Nicks' 1994 classic “Blue Denim”and yes, that means we can hear her actually SING. Watch the brills video below...
Ok, so she's no Beyonce but the clip, directed by Gia Coppola, showcases Alexa's legendary sense of humour as well as her dulcet tones. Protests of "Oh no, not again, please!" come from the audience as she bops around on stage, wildly flying her arms about like she's enjoying a drunken night out in Shoreditch.
In fact, the track was recorded in New York in November last year and was produced by famed musician Dev Hynes. Move over, Solange! The song is a fitting choice considering Alexa is prepping to launch her new collection with LA-based label, AG, and gives the style icon a chance to showcase a bit of her own blue denim.
“Two of my favourite things: Alexa Chung and denim. How could this not be fabulous!” says Justin O’Shea, mytheresa.com's Buying Director. And we can't help but agree.
