Rumour Has It… Adele Is Set To Headline At Glastonbury

She may have said she doesn't do festivals but Rumour Has It Adele is being hotly tipped to headline at Glastonbury this year. (See what we did there?)

Festival boss Michael Eavis is hoping he can persuade the singer to perform on Saturday night at the music event in Somerset.

A source told the Mirror: 'Most of the acts have been booked for Glasto but Michael and daughter Emily Eavis are still trying to get Adele for Saturday night.

'She has been on their wishlist for a few years now. Negotiations are ongoing but this is the closest they have got to signing her.'

In 2011 Adele said the thought of performing to a festival crowd 'frightens' her. She told Q magazine: 'I have anxiety attacks, constant panicking on stage, my heart feels like it's going to explode because I never feel like I'm going to deliver, ever.’

‘I will not do festivals. The thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me. I don't think the music would work either. It's all too slow. I'd hate to book a festival and have a ******* anxiety attack and then not go on stage.’

Aside from performing at the 2013 Oscars Adele hasn't performed on stage since 2011.

Along with the Adele, Florence And The Machine are also rumoured to be performing after Florence failed to quash the rumours during an interview with Zane Lowe on Radio 1 this week.

Lionel Richie is the only act officially confirmed by Glastonbury – the crooner will perform on the Sunday evening.
