Intern or CEO, we all want to boss the office, agreed? But, traditional workwear can leave us feeling cold. Especially, when your office has perpetual frigid air-con (ahem facilities team). In an age when most careers, of both the conservative and creative kind, rarely have and an official dress code, it should be easier than ever to decide what to wear. But, sadly when we’re faced with a wardrobe of sensible options at 7 am on a Monday morning nothing can look bleaker.

Investing anywhere between 20 and 200 quid can actually buy you a pair of work-appropriate trews that won’t bore you to tears. For, tailoring is a persistent trend for this coming winter. From blazers to smart trousers, shirts to sensible shoes, the look of aw17 sharp. Here's a prediction worth telling the bank manager about: for the next few months until early spring we predict that sartorial shapes will see their stocks rising, while fussy, frilly, fluffy fashion will be crashing out of the market.

It’s utterly pointless to moon over summer’s lightweight shapes as the assets worth acquiring as we approach this new season and see temperatures drop will winter-ready. Now is the time to think of the approaching coolness with crisp cuts and thicker strides. Velvet and wool are two incoming trends that are warm, weighty and tactile. Slimmer shapes will lend themselves to fluffy knits, and pinstriped designs will suit longline overcoats perfectly. Take this information and don’t file it away, action it immediately by shopping these the 13 blue chip brands…That’s an assignment.
