6 People Who Are Making Us Want White Boots

This winter some of the most maligned shoes are finding favour. Take kitten heels, for instance, they were once considered so naff only Theresa May would touch them. And, now they are the definition of chic. The same goes for slouchy knee-highs, mules and white boots. About the latter, they’ve always struggled in the shadow of their sister style – black boots – for they seem less wearable and prime to get mucky the moment they step out the house. However, that's all spin on the part of the black boot committee, for white shoes are actually very wearable, and when made out of the right fabric (patent) they are just as easy to keep clean as darker colours. With this season’s silhouettes referencing the ’80s and the ‘60s, bright shiny white boots feel perfect for this trend train. Not only are they a refreshing change from the heavy clumpiness of their darker coloured cousins, but they are also versatile enough to pair with tailoring and dresses, see for yourself by scrolling on…

1. White To The Point

Bella Hadid strides into winter wearing blue tailoring with bright white shiny boots.

2. To Have And To Kneel

Camille Charriere’s patent boots are the stuff of Swinging ‘60s dreams. Teamed with a silk dress they go from go-go girl to AW18.

3. White Hot

There is a barely a day that goes by when Teen Vogue’s editor Elaine Welteroth posts a picture of herself wearing these boots. Why? Because they actually go with anything – from dressy dresses to jeans and tees, it turns out they are incredibly versatile.

4. Yee-Haw

Get the outfit right, and a Cowboy boot’s mini heel can make a major impact.

5. Thigh’s The Limit

With winter upon us bare legs are not an option so give those summer skirts a spin with over-the-knee boots that limit elemental exposure.

6. Blues Clues

Yes, this was a Halloween outfit, but boilersuits are big news this season, and it turns out they work best with barely laced Dr Martens.
