Berlin-based Voo Store is cool. Really cool. We heard it from a Debrief team member and Berlin expert, who breathed that Voo Store is ‘so much more than a store. I just want to hang out in their Kreuzberg space all day. It’s the coolest store in Europe – and the e-store is just as good. It’s actually the best store in the world.’ She then had to stop speaking as she passed out in a haze of Voo love.
So we were sent there with the best intentions – and even though you sadly cannot sample Voo’s famous coffee and baked goods in its online incarnation, it did not disappoint. We even bought a Carven choker that we had been fruitlessly searching for, for the past three months. (Smug, much?)
Not only is Voo Store the happiest web experience – you can cruise with ease along a riverbed of graphic colour – but it’s just such a damn good edit. Those funky Berliners, with their funky ass, conceptual aesthetic. From Kenzo, Acne, Opening Ceremony and Carven (the usual suspects) to a tight selection of slightly less expensive but no less edgy labels such as timeless Danish label POPcph and jewellery line Vibe Harsløf, it’s got all the labels you love. OK, the price points are more Whistles than Primark – but, to be honest, with the emerging connotations of budget high street shopping (hello, those labels in Primark clothes?), we’re increasinly cool with that.
