It’s 11pm. Bedtime beckons. “Oh, just a quick browse…” An hour later and there you are, the reality kicking in that you’ve spent half your pay check on summer dresses (Insert red faced emoji here). BUT THEY WERE ON SALE! Ah, online shopping: the ultimate love-hate relationship. General consensus on the Grazia Digital desk is Zara is the #1 culprit for our post pay-day splurge (no explanation necessary). But new data has revealed the most visited online store is in fact...ASOS.
Internet marketing firm SEMrush revealed the online shopping habits in a new mammoth study, collecting traffic data; including direct-to-site, referral, search and social on a plethora of e-commerce sites including Zara, H&M and more.
According to WWD, authors of the report said the company’s research ‘shows that social media channels can be useful for [fashion apparel] retailers. In fashion marketing, using different channels allows brands to connect with niche audiences and diverse demographics.’
It goes without saying that when it comes to the social media branding game ASOS is winning, with 6.1 million Instagram followers, a slew of influencers ‘gramming away and celebrity fans including Elle Fanning, Gigi Hadid and Taylor Swift.
Here’s SEMrush’s list of the the top fashion e-commerce sites based on traffic…
