Victoria’s Secrets Best Shoes In Show! Nicholas Kirkwood And Sophia Webster Design The Runway’s Fancy Footwear

Fancy walking in the footsteps of a Victoria’s Secret angel? Well, now you can! We can’t promise the rock-hard abs, the perky booty or the entrance-making cherubic wings but what we can offer you are some of the very shoes that stormed the London runway yesterday.

Two of London’s top shoe gurus - Nicholas Kirkwood and Sophia Webster - designed the extravagant footwear especially, but get this: not all of their catwalk creations are one-offs, there are actual shoes you can buy in store.

The talented cordwainers took turns in creating the perfect hot heels for each of the VS show’s trend sections styled by Sophia Neophitou: Sophia’s butterfly intricate leather OTK gladiators worn by a fluttering Candice Swanepoel or Nicholas’ golden, stacked sandals for a phoenix-like Doutzen Kroes, for example. Nicholas totted up nine pairs, as well as slipping onto the feet of unofficial VS team leader, Taylor Swift, while Sophia notched up 14 and bagged the fantasy bra spot finale. 'I did them especially to go with the bras,' she explained to GraziaDaily backstage. 'I did a glittery cotton embroidery with metallics. They have to be extra special, extra glitz – wanted to make them look expensive.'

There couldn’t have been a better double act to craft an entire raft of shoes in such styling harmony. But it’s no surprise considering the pair’s prosperous working relationship. Sophia was once upon a time a young designer cutting her teeth under Nicholas Kirkwood’s now booming shoe empire, she then branched out alone on an eponymous line in 2012. 'I did them especially to go with the bras. I did a glittery cotton embroidery with metallics. They have to be extra special, extra glitz – wanted to make them look expensive,' she said, whilst noting that it's Adriana Lima who she was most in awe of.

Now to the pieces you can buy; Nicholas has launched two molten gold styles called the ‘Gabo Angels’ which you can find in his flagship London boutique and online. As for Sophia, her zig-zag 'Riko' can be found on Net-A-Porter.com, with the pom pom 'Catia' and tasselled 'Marissa' launching soon on SophiaWebster.co.uk.
