Victoria’s Secret 20th Anniversary Fashion Show Returns To The Big Apple

In honour of 20 years on the catwalk, Victoria’s Secret are celebrating their two-decade anniversary by returning their annual show to its birthplace – the Big Apple. Yes, despite the wild success of VS's first ever show in London last year, the lingerie brand has decided not to host its 2015 extravaganza in the UK. Tickets to NY, anyone?

‘New York City was the site of the first ever Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 1995, and holds a special place in our history and our hearts,’ CEO Sharon Jester Turney tells People. ‘For this year’s show, our 20th, we’re returning to where it all began.’

In the last 20 years, VS shows have travelled across the States, from Miami to Los Angeles, and even landed on the shores of Cannes. The first ever UK VS show was staged last December at Earls Court, London, and featured not one but two Fantasy Bras, valued at $2million each.

News of the show’s return to New York follows the announcement that the number of newly contracted models – or ‘Angels’, as they are widely known – has been upped from five to 10. The UK’s Stella Maxwell and the USA’s Jasmine Tookes will join veteran Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima and Behati Prinsloo in a sensational anniversary spectacle set to be the brand’s best yet.

Whilst musical acts won’t be announced until late autumn, with past performers including Ed Sheeran and Rihanna – and with 9.29million viewers tuning in to Taylor Swift last year – wings are aflutter as to who this year’s star vocalist will be.
