Rock and roll chicks of the fashion world unite: you have a label who knows your every sartorial desire - from those days where only a leather tux dress or patent bomber and matching mini skirt will do, or those super sexy evenings where just a length of slashed-to-everywhere chiffon in monochrome animalier print can nail the dress code. Meet Versus Versace spring/summer 2016 under the expert guidance of Anthony Vacarello. He's the man behind those barely-there, artfully placed gowns you'll find on the likes of Anja Rubik, the thigh baring pencil skirts of Carine Roitfeld and the sharp, short, bad-ass shifts that Charlotte Gainsbourg wears in her signature dishevelled way. And tonight he and the brand brought their intrinsically sassy style to London - and in the process of a show, a FROW and an after party, the Italian fashion house proved there's as much of a market in this supposedly demure capital city of ours as anywhere.
Flesh was the key accessory - or was it those fun pearl or medusa head medallion sandals? Leather abounded. Dark florals nodded to summer without succumbing to it's silly prettiness. And of course there were options galore for the Versus red carpet crew - the ones who like their gowns with a major side split held together with silver hardware and a noticeable absence of underwear. With live music, lively clothes and an audience alive and kicking it on a Saturday night - alongside models including Binx, Erin Wasson, Lily Donaldson, Jamie Box her and more in their show looks- it was quite clear the Versus babe does not do early nights and won't be dressing down any time soon.
